Club lacrosse in several hotbed areas are thriving across Italy and offer incredible athletic and cultural destinations. United Lacrosse Academy will customize your tour to the specific needs and budget as you travel the cities and countryside making sure to take in amazing culinary, artistic and historic offerings along the way to the 2018 Italy International Lacrosse Cup. The tournament will feature divisions for both boys and girls in a single age group suitable for 16u teams from the United States and Canada.
The 2018 Italy International Lacrosse Cup tour package includes stays in the city of Rome and the countryside of Tuscany with excursions to places like Milan and Siena before competition begins in the lakeside city of Como.
Saturday, June 23 Players and staff departs a US Gateway on an overnight flight to the Italy for your 10-day lacrosse tour. Due to the time difference between Italy and the United States the group will arrive the following morning.
Sunday, June 24 Upon arrival at Rome Fiumicino International Airport, the tour will be met by their bi-lingual United Sports Academies tour manager and will board their private bus for a guided tour of the city. Your tour manager and private motor coach will remain with you for the duration of the program. Lunch on your own is followed by transfer to your local lodgings to settle in before a team welcome dinner. (Rome)
Monday, June 25 Following breakfast at the hotel, the group will head off to enjoy a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Lunch is on your own. In the afternoon players and coaches transfer to a local training center for practice. Dinner in the evening and team activities. (Rome)
Tuesday, June 26 Following hotel check-out in the morning the group transfers to the famed beauty of the Tuscany region. A late morning stop in the hillside town of Siena to enjoy one of the country’s most visited places. Lunch and time to explore on your own will give the group the opportunity to see sites like the Piazza Del Campo, home to the harrowing Palio horse race. The group continues their transfer to Montecatini in time for hotel check-in and an afternoon practice at the local training center. Dinner and team activities in the evening. (Montecatini)
Wednesday, June 27 Following breakfast at the hotel, the group heads off for a guided tour of nearby Florence, the unofficial capital of Italian art. Your tour will include site like the Piazza Della Signoria, the Old Palace, the Old Bridge and much more. Lunch is on your own followed by time to explore and transfer back to Montecatini for an afternoon practice. Dinner and team activities in the evening. (Montecatini)
Thursday, June 28 Following breakfast and hotel check-out the group makes the final transfer north to Como and the Italy Lacrosse Cup! A lunchtime stop in Milan includes a guided tour of the city and time to explore on your own before continuing to the Como area for hotel check-in. Dinner and team activities in the evening. (Como)
Friday, June 29 Following breakfast the group will enjoy a guided trip through the beautiful lakeside city of Como. Lunch and time to explore on your own before players and coaches head to the local training center to conduct a beginner’s clinic for local youth athletes. Lacrosse is a growing sport in Italy and the opportunity to share your first-hand experience with eager young players makes a great difference in their experience. Saturday, June 30 Following breakfast at the hotel get ready for the Italy Lacrosse Cup! Pool games begin at 9am and continue through the day. Lunch on your own and leisure time depending on your schedule. The Lambrone Sports Center hosting the tournament has a swimming pool and spa (admission not included) that could provide some enjoyable down time between competition. Dinner and team activities in the evening. (Como)
Sunday, July 1 Following breakfast at the hotel the group heads to the Sport Center for Day Two of the Italy Lacrosse Cup. The final pool games finish in the morning and playoffs, finals and consolation games are in the afternoon followed by an awards ceremony. The team will wrap things up with a farewell dinner in the evening. (Como)
Monday, July 2 Following breakfast and hotel check-out the group transfers to Milan International Airport for the flight back to the U.S.
